Amazing experience with Nina and Chris. 100% recommend as part of your trip in El Nido, making some Filipino traditional dishes yourself! Fresh ingredients and lovely environment.

The cooking class at El Kuisina was a great experience! First things first, the food was amazing. We had two starters, two main courses and a desert. By 12:00. Which was not a problem though, as it was impossible not to become incredibly hungry while cooking. All were relatively easy but crazy good in taste. (Set A) Chris, the chef and instructor, and Nina, the organizational force behind everything, are incredibly friendly and did a great job in creating a relaxed, fun atmosphere. After the class, all of us would just sit down for another hour to talk. Overall the class is perfect to learn what the Filipino cuisine actually is and to have some variation in the ocean based activities in El Nido.

Thanks Chris and Nina for the amazing experience! El Kusina was one of the best parts of our trip to El Nido, Palawan. After taking this class I decided to take a cooking class every new place I go! This is the best way to learn about the culture and cuisine. The food was delicious and so exciting to cook. I definitely recommend El Kusina to whomever visiting El Nido.

What I loved about this experience was it’s authentic homely feel. As Nina put it “these aren’t necessary the most famous in Philippines, but they are MY favourites”. She was a lovely host. The food was well explained, some things we made from scratch, some with a little assistance. We’ll spread out so you’re not too full. 10/10

We had such a lovely experience learning about Filipino cuisine and culture from Chris and Nina. Chris the chef taught us simply and clearly how to prepare the dishes while Nina shared with us stories about El Nido or Filipino culture. They are such hospitable people and so generous with their time. After cooking we sat, talked and learned so much about the culture. They were patient with our many questions. Thank you Chris and Nina for the wonderful experience. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to learn about (and eat) tasty local dishes. We foresee ourselves cooking the same dishes from Set B when we go home.

Had a wonderful day here learning some popular Filipino dishes. Nina, as host, and Chris, as chef, were fantastic and lovely to talk to. The food was great and I would highly recommend.

I thoroughly enjoyed the evening cooking class with Chef Chris. He has incredible passion and skill which he shared with our group of 5 and the food we prepared was amazing. I also met Nina (Chris' girlfriend) who was very kind to host me and take me on a quick tour around the island since I had a bit of an issue with my itinerary. El Kusina is a charming old place that serves delicious food (I couldn't stop raving about their Fish Lumpia and Binacol when I got home!) Most of what they create is fresh from scratch and extremely tasty. Definitely a place worth checking out when you're in El Nido!
