It's a huge museum I guess it's contain 4 floors and most of it contains the Filipino history and also artist pics about Filipino people
The must-visit the museum in Manila. No fee for anyone, even the tourist. One thing I would suggest here is they should put a cafe and souvenir store.
Great collection for Filipino history. Nice way to get a general idea of the Filipino history through objects and art. One thing that was unfortunately missing was a religious background And anything that was written down. I am assuming the other countries that came through the Philippines have destroyed a lot of the Philippine history and past. There was no mention of what the people believed before the christians took over the country.
Great place to go too, love the atmosphere and learn things about my wife culture I didn’t know
It has some interesting galleries, including one that house pieces from early Mindanao, as well as a gallery of old cannons, complete with a few rounds of cannon balls. If you have a wide angle lens for your camera, bring it. The entry in Wikipedia sums it up: The National Museum of Anthropology (Filipino: Pambansang Museo ng Antropolohiya), formerly known as the Museum of the Filipino People (Filipino: Museo ng Lahing Pilipino), is a component museum of the National Museum of the Philippines that houses the anthropology and archaeology divisions. It is located in the Agrifina Circle, Rizal Park, Manila adjacent to the National Museum of Fine Arts building. The building formerly housed the Department of Finance. It also houses the wreck of the San Diego, ancient artifacts, and zoology divisions.
Although a little sparse, there are some interesting exhibits here. It's worth a visit even if only to experience this old colonial style building, which was originally the Department of Finance building. You might want to take a look at the other museums in the area at the same time, including the Planetarium. It's a short walk to/from the tourist district of Ermita through Rizal Park.
Terrific museum - you learn so much about the history of the Philippines and their peoples by visiting!!!
