"Pony Boys" are grown up men who are experienced and seasoned horse riders of Baguio City who usually take the lead role as horse owner cum horse guide. Other pony boys come with an assistant who will watch the horse and its rider/s most of the time during the riding adventure.. The pony boy rider/guide usually leads the horse or most oftentimes walk beside it and will ride the horse as a guide to offer protection to the rider. Pony boys is one form of unique livelihood of Baguio (e.g., Wright Park, etc.) which consists of lots of menial jobs consisting of stable cleaners, horse groomers, pony guide/rider boys, horse feeders, etc., It is also a local industry since there are specialty shops who makes customized horse accessories like saddles, hats, boots, horse strappings to name a few. An association composed of pony boys riders/guides/workers was created to keep the unity of this local livelhihood strong and resilient.
Please don't have the ponies stand on the steps(that go up to reflecting pool) cause you know...walking in horse poop or piss is not fun
