The view is simply breathtaking.. worth the travel..the road on the boat was fun with great music played..the horse back riding was a great choice for it was hot and your shoes submerged on the sand so it was an effort walking...
A good place and a very easy trek with only downside being the HEAT and over the top costly every substandard services that are sold to foreigners....but I'll pass that as it happens everywhere. All in all, a good experience and my first visit to an active volcano.
Good place. You can see all taal
Good half day hike in Taal Volcano. Limited shelter and trees so beware of timing and heat from direct sun. Nice view of crater when you reach the peak.
You should visit the place if you're in Philippines and you have time. It is a beautiful place. You must rent a boat from there to go to the island. The boat ride to island is fun, great views, especially when you get near the island. If you decide to go there, you must go up to the crater where the gem of island is, the Taal lake. The view is amazing from the top and while you're going up. The volcano is complex by the way but completely safe for tourists! You can't go down near the lake, you can see it from the top. You might find steam coming out from cracks down by the lake side, it only adds to the experience! You can either hike or ride on a horse to go up. Horses will cost more but if you dislike walking or can not for any reason, that is your only option. We rode on horses aaaand I wish I didn't... It is really uncomfortable. There are no proper saddles, just thick blankets. The path is steep, and it gets 2 uncomfortable when horses start galloping. Going down was even more uncomfortable... I couldn't wait for it to be over... The path is very steep, so it would take much longer and it would be much more taxing on you to walk but if you think you can handle it, go for it. If you don't decide to go up, you can't see the Taal lake, the main beauty but you can take pictures at the bottom in the tourist designated area. Overall it was a great experience, the horseback riding was uncomfortable but hey it's part of the experience!
What is there not to love? The hard climb? Use a horse! It may diminish some of the adventure, but it will give you a pain in the butt. It's your choice. The heat? So don't forget to bring sunblock. It is an active volcano within a lake. That, alone, would surprise - if not amaze - you. And the fun of discovering that you've been had in calling the other, smaller hill as THE Taal Volcano It's all worth it: the splash of lake-water, the hard climb, the heat, all of it! Because the view up there is nothing short of majestic!
Nature at its best. Exciting boat ride to the island. Short hike. Horseback riding if you dont want to hike. Spectacular view on top of the rim of the volcano. Friendly guides & horse riders.
