The Sidcor Market I grew up with can be found in EDSA corner Main Avenue—the current location of Hypermarket Cubao. As far as I can recall, it was 8 years ago when it was launched again in Centris. I often visit every Sunday morning for my favorite Empanada, Pad Thai, and Buco Sherbet. This is home to a variety of food selection from regional cuisines to international flavors. Sidcor is also a great source of fresh produce, organic vegetables, and fruits. The price is at par with local neighborhood palengke and definetely cheaper than supermarket. Sidcor is open from 6:00am to 1:00pm but fresh market’s stocks runs out easily. Be sure to arrive earlier. There are a lot of parking spaces available at Sidcor as well. Commuters can take the Quezon Avenue MRT station. It’s a walk away from the train stop.

Sunday market offering a lot of different interesting apparel, bags, perfumes, toys, linens, decors and food. It also has a section for fruits, meat, vegetable, fish, pets and plants etc... Located in the area near EDSA and quezon avenue, it has access to public trasport, parking space, public restrooms, atms, malls and other establishment in the nearby Centris Mall. The best of it all is the food area where you have different stalls selling different specialties, fruits, vegies and desserts.

One of the best early morning Sunday markets you will find in Manila. Really good selection of food, wet and dry stuff you can find. I also love the wide options of cooked food and bread available. I have been going to this market for over a year now and it has never been boring.

If you’re just around Quezon City, I highly recommend this Sunday market at Eton Centris. From surplus finds, dry goods with same price at Divisoria, to fresh seafood, meat and livestock- you will find it here!! I always go here early in the morning for freshly brewed coffee of Candid (a coffee pop up store where I can chat with its owner), and baked goodies. There’s a lot of selection of cooked meals. And the best is the different longganisa from different places you can try- Lucban, Vigan, Pampanga! Sausages and frozen products from Regalado meat are also recommended- buy 1 take 1 mostly. I tell myself i’ll only eat but always find myself leaving with a lot of stuff- especially plants! For a certified #Plantita like me, I always get airplants, pots and soil here for a good bargain. I just hope there will be ways to reduce/ ban use of single use plastics. Like an incentive for regular customers who bring their own utensils and ecobags and discounted rent perhaps to sellers to encourage them not to give out plastics or for them to use alternative packaging like newspapers and banana leaves. The stalls are open as early as 5:30am. Better to go here in the morning as the tent becomes like a sauna. Be prepared to bring ecobags, extra money and towel to wipe your sweat.
