Good alternative to the standard tours offered by travel agencies around town and the cost can work out cheaper if you can fill a boat. Prices for the boat hire are displayed at the dock and are based on the area being visited and number of passengers, prices include the captain and crew who will also cook you lunch, the ingredients need to be bought from the market in the morning. Entry fees to each of the sites are also displayed at the dock and are a per person cost. The boat fee is payable to the captain/crew and the entry fees at each destination. If possible visit the day before the planned trip to agree destinations and confirm the availability and time of the boat, generally 8am to 4pm. If booking on the day of the trip try to be there by 7am so there’s time to visit the market and be one of the first out of the dock to beat the crowds.

When you walk by the place, there will be plenty of people offering boat rental. It seems dodgy in the beginning but actually that is neither scam nor fraud. We paid 2700 for three people and have our snorkel trip very flexible with delicious food(you buy ingredients in local market in the morning and they will cook for you). We have two young guys-Eric and Vince- as our captain and guide. They are sweet and very professional. Suitable for people with experience in free diving or snorkeling. The trip with them was one of our best day in Palawan.

Organised our best tour here... Fixed prices and the possibility to go shopping on the market before going to your destinations for some food and drinkks

Rickety boats. Instead of a walkway they expect you to hop over the edge of the road onto a tiny unstable platform. We said no and walked away.

We headed down here late after we arrived and upon arrival a young guy asked us if we wanted to book a boat tour. All seemed a bit dodgy but we agreed and booked it for the following day. We arrived the following morning and our guy was there waiting. He sorted out the paperwork and the office was open so all seemed legit. We then walked to the market to buy fish, seaweed, beers, water and stuff for cooking our lunch (the guys on the boat cooked the best food we had in Coron!) boat hire is 2700php and you then need to pay to visit the different attractions - prices vary for each place, prices are on the poster on the wall at the association. The beauty of private boat is you can go where you want and at what time to avoid the hoards of ppl - and spend as long as you like. Rent some snorkelling equipment too just close to the boats and buy some ice. We visited all the main attractions and our guide came with us at each stop to make sure we were ok and to point out the stuff we needed to see/know. We stopped at smiths beach for lunch and it was amazing we ate with the boat guys and was amazing. Ship wreck was ok not a lot to see there but lots of Instagram worthy shots to be had - make sure you have a GoPro or waterproof cover for your phone as you need to swim to some of the locations. Barracuda lake was my fav - no barracudas but the views under water are stunning! We came here late and almost had the lake to ourselves. Would defo recommend this instead of doing a tour - nothing dodgy about organising it yourself just head to the association and talk with the ppl in the office.
