There's nothing for you to worry about visiting Mama Mary. You can actually see her at the entrance gate. Since most of the area are still close to the public.

God bless us. Big place. As of February 12, 2021, you cannot go to the main area. Only at the entrance where you can give offerings and light a candle or two.

This is my first time to be here and it is nice. Face shield and mask is required when you enter the place. However, some parts of the monastery is not open to the public yet.

If it's your first time here, most likely you will take a lot of photos. But be sure to also visit Mama Mary and pray. This place is sacred and holy and make sure to respect their rules. I've been here 3 consecutive times during June of the year, and when I do visit, I usually go to Mama Mary to pray and thank for all the blessings I have.

Before, this place was very quiet, rough road and only few people coming. The shrine was small and very simple. But now, this is very crowded and commercialized. Lots of vendors all around the place. But thank God, the monks and the pilgrims keep the holiness and cleanliness of the place. God bless everyone.

If you are exploring Cebu, this holy place should be your first stop. Simala shrine also known as The Miraculous Castle Church. It’s not only the scenery why people go there. The church is also known for its miraculous events.

One of the most beautiful churches/shrine/monastery in the region. It has a grown to a “castle” from its humble beginnings as a chapel in a remote hill. Many people come here to pray and many people attest that they received personal miracles after visiting here. It is quite far from the main city of Cebu but it is worth the travel if you are a devotee. Please wear modest clothes or else you are barred to get in because after all, the place is still a church.

It's really a nice church although I found it to hot because there's no air conditioning but I'm a Canadian and I like it cool. I think it's a really nice place to visit if you're catholic. The only restaurant there isn't good and I therefore recommend eating before you go or bringing your own food
