Witnessed a very beautiful sunrise here. Getting to the peak of Mt. Anggas is a bit difficult since you have to crawl, what more when going down. Since it’s a mineral mountain, its rocks are loose, so there’s a tendency for you to slip off. Its view made me remember of Mt. Pulag since they have similarities, try to check the photos. Big thanks to Nyor’s playground!
It was a 5-hour open trail. We started at Colambog, Taparak, Misamis Oriental (arrive first at Mt. Tutoy peaks), traversed to Anggas mount and descended at Lourdes, Alubijid, Misamis Oriental. We started the trail 5:30 AM so we were quite "under the sun" when we walked. I guess, a climb in the afternoon is better like 4PM, camp at Mt Tutoy and wait for both sunset the sunrise there. Traverse to Anggas by 6:30 then start descent by 8 AM - since it is an open trail. It is not a "walk in the park" kind because of some narrow trail going up (and down) that has loose soil to step on to. It was a rewarding kind of trail because of that though :) We enjoyed it, knowing that somehow, we reached Gitagum on foot and we survived :)
Every mountain top is within reach if you just keep #climbing. September 27, 2019 #MtAnggasSummit #MisamisOriental #Gitagum #GPelaez
A mountain range of minerals, rocks and endemic contour hugging grasses - giving it one of its kind landscape. The panoramic view is spectacular. The trail has 360 degree view from start to finish but one must manage the time of the trek because of no forest cover. No one wanted to be caught under the intense heat of the sun. Getting a good guide is a must.
Scattered chocolate-like hill mountains
