Stepping into the almost 55-year old book shop is a unique experience for me. Thought I'd walk away with just one book but I got 4. It holds a huge collection of Filipiniana books on one side of the store. Been to a lot of book shops but theirs is very diverse. You can spend hours here just feeling and reading spines of books old and new. Truly worth the visit if you come to Manila. Lucky to score a signed copy of Puppy Love!

This place is a bookshop filled with the history of Philippines
I love independent bookstores and this is one of the few ones holding on in Metro Manila. I've chanced upon the Old Man a couple of times when I visit but am too shy to even say a greeting. The staff can be a little stand-offish, but I guess it adds to the character of the bookstore? They are helpful, however, when searching for a particular title.
One of my favorite bookstores in Manila, and one that's been around for decades. Has a particularly deep selection of Lefty literature and nonfiction, and is a great place to go if you're looking to learn something about the politics of the country or region.
Love this place! I missed some books that have gone out of print (esp. Lacaba brothers, sardonic Pete and passionate Eman) but it was like visiting old friends in the same place after 35 years away. Prices are fair and you can't beat the selection of Filipiniana; the well-chosen foreign books include a fair showing about and from other Asian nations, as well as Western classics and good fiction without the usual bestselling junk. Feed your mind on your holiday -- as other readers have for more than five decades.
you can find hard to find books here its a goldmine of literary books, history books ,fiction books from famous lit. authors even papeback novels they have it. its a quaint bookshop in a corner of padre faura
Quaint little bookstore. Carries good and a few non-mainstream titles. A bit pricey but worth it.
