Really good authentic Japanese food. Meals average at around P200 but super worth the price for the quality of the food. Place itself is small but ambiance is so nice. They also serve Japanese alcohol.

Awesome Japanese food. I had the best tasting sashimi. The beef yakiniudon was also good.
Authentic. There is no way to stress it enough. This is actually authentic Japanese food. The sashimi cuts are blocks of delicious freshness expertly prepared. I was blown away by the fact that years of searching for authentic Japanese restaurants, this is in my top 2; a small inconspicuous stall in Elyu. It's as good as the surf, believe me. It's well worth your money
A bad first experience from Chu's by just giving them a call. I did not understand the logic of what the lady had said because she explained that the restaurant had taken a lot of orders already and can not accommodate my order, while the time closing-opening time as stated in their Facebook page is from 12-2pm and 6-10pm and I started to order at 5:30pm. Pathetic!!
Got the Yakinikudon (grilled beef) from this authentic Japanese stall. My friend also raved about their curry!
Does not know how to handle orders. They close the taking of orders by 5:30pm when their restaurant is saying open from 6pm to 10pm. Bad experience. They should close their restaurant, they are not into business that way.
The food was super delicious!! Price is reasonable. Best Japanese cuisine in La Union. The place is small, but its nice! I personally like to sit Infront of the chef where he prepares the food. Also reminder after eating, place your finished bowl of food in the counter.
I was with my family in the Great Northwest in the evening of January 2, 2020 (approximately 1900 hours). We placed orders at Chu’s Diner: Katsudon, Katsu Curry, Tendon, and 3 different types of sashimi. While we were waiting in a bar across the restaurant, a group of Japanese arrived. I would estimate they were at least three orders after us. A man came out to greet them, who we learned later was Mr. Chu. Our first three orders came within 15-20 minutes of our arrival. Surprisingly the sashimi was late in coming. Kay, who was the girl taking orders, came out and explained that there was a delay in our sashimi order because there were only two chefs preparing the food. But we said we would wait. However, to make certain our order would be taken care of, I went inside the restaurant where I saw one of the chefs (an elderly Japanese) preparing sashimi. But when he was done with the order, Kay handed out the dish to the Japanese group. That was when I exploded in anger. I asked why the Japanese group was being served ahead of us when we arrived much earlier. I even pointed our earlier orders to Mr. Chu. Kay became teary eyed and said it was her fault. But Mr. Chu offered no apologies. This was the first time I was discriminated against in my own country. Shame on you Mr. Chu!!!
