Ando Island is a 15 to 20 minute boat ride (outrigger) from mainland Borongan taking off at Sabang Fishport. The island boasts of its white sand and rocky beaches, and the mythical Sangat Cave believed to be the burial ground of gigantic ancient early settlers. More is known of Ando Island's beaches than the numerous caves with an awesome display of stalactites. Fresh produce from the sea abound, including exotic foods like "tarukog" (chitons) that is best cooked in coconut milk or made into crunchy chicharon, and the "tatos" - the giant coconut-eating crab.
