We are on the ferry boat that leaves from Davao to Samal island and back this is the only available transportation for now. However we are hoping that in the near future the government will build a faster route which will make it easier to travel between the two islands this will be a game changer for those who are travelling across these two beautiful islands.

Very safe place for all people to come in Samal island. But now it's temporary closed due to the pandemic
Port you can access directly from Davao to Samal Island and vice versa. Usually it will take you 10-20 minutes of travel from port to port depending on the situation. It is operating 24/7 so it is convenient for you to travel at any time. Enjoy and have fun.
VERY CROWDED DURING PEAK SEASON! Better come early like 2 hours early before your estimated plan. During our experience, the vehicle line reached more than 2 kilometers! You really have to packed more patience too! Php250 fee for light weight vehicles. Please See the photo i uploaded for your reference.
Security is fine as guards are very strict upon entering Davao City. There's a restroom as well so it adds to convenience. Same problem with Samal Wharf, on weekdays when there are not much tourists, it gets a little difficult to cross the gulf especially during late night. Barges don't cone so often as in the morning.
Friendly staff at the entrance. Lots of good memories in this pretty island. ️️
During peak hours the travel time from Samal to Davao takes about 1hour to 1hour and 30 mins. I suggest taking the jeep to ride the boat then taking the bus OR take the bus from the terminal at noon time to 2:30pm.
Trip is every 30 minutes by barge. Same with the bus (ac 105 pesos & non ac 85pesos) as of nov 2018. The barge is 24hrs. But the bus is 6am - 5pm only. Barge fair is 12 pesos (5 yo and above). And boat ride is approximately 30min.
