As new fruit farmers in Samal Island, we contacted both the Samal Agricultural office and the BPI in Bago Oshiro near Mintal. Both offices were extremely helpful and gave good advice to us who are learning the fruit growing industry from scratch. With their advice we have now planted 150 coconuts and 200 cacao on our farm and will be growing more. We bought the cacao from BPI (UF18) and will wait to see how it comes out! Next steps will be pomelo, rambutan and lansones as intercrops.
