I spent a wonderful month with IMR as a Research Assistant in November 2019. I really enjoyed the mixture of work and experience that I gained whilst there. I had a lot of hands-on experience doing survey dives at beautiful, local reefs learning how to record impacts, benthic ID and gathering video data for fish ID and reef modelling and analysing the data back at the base. Chelsea and Raf are two of the friendliest, most interesting and welcoming people I've ever met. You’re immediately made to feel part of the team and that your contribution is worthwhile. I left IMR with a newfound love for corals and as a much better diver, my only regret is that I didn't stay in their little slice of paradise longer!
