The place suggests the Filipino Idea of mixed fruits ranging from banana, ube, jackfruit, beans, and more, topped with the grated ice then finished with condensed and evaporated milk and drizzled with sugar according to taste, thus gives you the idea of a traditional Filipino Halo-Halo.
When we got there, it appears to be almost closing time (around 10PM), well they could have refused guests but they're not, so we took a table. But theirs is only a 4-seater and we requested for additional table, then the staff pointed to another vacant table and said "Pwede ra na ninyo isumpay, sir!" (You can also join that table with this one, sir!) Hmmm, not so accomodating. Staff gives no greetings and just busy tidying up the place.
Anyhow, we get into the menu. They said it's only one kind of Halo-Halo after being asked what's their all-time favorite. Ok, we ordered it, 75php per order. Serving time about 10mins. Thence came our orders (please see pic attached). Plating looks nice, but not a that outstanding. Thence, I tried to look for the details I described at the beginning of this review but I was disappointed, it only looked and appeared as ice cream to me!
Then, the taste. The avocado flavor stood out, if you don't bite into the sliced banana toppings. Even the choco chips didn't do any bearing to the taste at all. It's ice cream all the way. But for the sake of the doubt, maybe they mixed all the fruits in there and got it to a blender, but still, the avocado dominated, velveted with the side sweet touches of milk, pretty much tastes like the powdered milk to me.
Well, I could've rated this a 3, but my 4/6 of my companions liked the idea too but not the taste. Uhm, I'll definitely come back here, but I'm afraid I can't recommend this for a good Halo-Halo.
Anyway, this place may try to reconsider changing their name to Monbis' Home-made Ice Cream!
