Café Ysabel may have moved but it still serves food we have been used to in the 80s. The ambiance is still perfect for those romantic dates with your significant other. It is also a great place to dine with family or hang out with friends. Even milestone events are still celebrated here just like in the 80s! I still remember attending several birthdays or debuts here. I have had the opportunity and pleasure of styling the place for a recent baptismal celebration. I found the ambiance perfect as it is and made use of their wooden tables as is with just a runner and lots of lovely flowers! Lovely place, accommodating people and if you're lucky you may even run into Chef Gene Gonzalez!

Great place for fine class dining. Place is cozy, good lighting and very clean. Staffs are attentive and approachable, place has an ample parking space for customers. Their pasta is very delicious and highly recommendable. Great restaurant to return to.

Great spread of European specialities. Would love more vegetarian options.

We used to go to Cafe Ysabel's old location along P. Guevarra quite often. Goodness knows why we took so long to drop by the new location even though it's been open for a year. For us, the food is just as good as we remember, and the new restaurant is just as inviting. Pictured are the strawberry shortcake, steak ala pobre and caesar salad. We'll definitely be back.

The new place might cause traffic along the narrow street if packed since area is more of a residential zone... Would have been five stars if not for the location and narrow street... Same good food and cakes as the old location. They retained the same courteous staffs and chefs... Call first to reserve as some days they have exclusive events.

Finally got to try Cafe Ysabel. I got the Burger (Which was better than Shake Shack) which can be shared by 2. The Strawbwery Shortcake was pricy but it was delicious, strawberries used were the US Strawberries.

Finally, was able to visit their new location. It’s not that easy to find if you’re not familiar with the San Juan area. Anyway, their new home has a bigger place since inside the compound also houses their culinary school. They still have their homey atmosphere that has been with them ever since they started. It’s an old house converted to a restaurant that has several rooms that has several antique tables and settings with modern amenities. I reckon they have bigger kitchen and can accommodate more diners. Dining here is like going home to home cooked food. They have the usual comfort food like calderetta, callos, lengua to name a few and of course their signature dishes. Cant help but be nostalgic every time we dine here. Definitely worth the trip. Food is quite pricey but then with this kind of dining experience, it’s just right.
