Bearing in mind that this kiosk is in an airport, the prices could easily be higher. I enjoyed looking at the hand made Filipino handicrafts so much that I nearly missed my flight. I purchased jade coloured bead bracelets and heart shaped hand made containers for 270 peso for my wife and daughter. They did not hate them! I was impressed with the faces of pre-Christian gods (I presume) shown in the photographs. She was very good at putting up with the rushed and irate tourists who here demanding to be allowed to pay in whatever currency they liked. In addition to handicrafts like those pictured, there was also a small selection of contemporary refreshments. I only wish that the lady at the store knew the back story: the myths and legends associated with the masks and pendants that she was selling. Should any one know who these fish-faced gods are, please let me know.

I was about to board my flight back to toronto, when i forgot that i didnt have any pesos on me to but myself some water (mind you i feel really thirsty) so i went back upstairs and the store closest to gate 16, is this stupid place. I bought 2 bottles (500 ml) of water which they charged me 50 pesos and a bottle of C2 for another 50 pesos (which normally costs 25). I only had canadian dollars on me and the lowest bill i had was a 50. So the guy at the cashier said he had to give me change in pesos which i was fine with, i thought ill go to shanghai, ill exchange my pesos to yuan and ill get snacks there. The dude said the exchange rate was 29 pesos to 1 canadian dollar! I was like excuse me?!?! I thought i heard it wrong but he said 29 to 1. I instantly googled the current exchange rate and it said 38.21. I showed it to the cashier and I was like really?!?! Bro, your ripping me off, never mind you just over priced water and juice but to rip me off entirely by cutting the exchange rate significantly by almost 1/3 is beyond me! The cashiers manager stepped in and she stated that they had a policy. Bro! She tore a piece of paper off the wall and said that that was their policy! You showing me your policy doesnt justify the fact that you can rip people off!!! Plus a piece of paper that you can clearly rip off is not worth to be \policy\ worthy!!! I'm canadian but i was born and raised filipino and this is disgusting! Taking advantage of individuals and clearly cheating them in front of their faces! This place is insipid and I hope people read this to let them know how they clearly flat out cheat every person that buys here!!!
