One of the best family trip we had. ️️️ Visited last August 2018 with our then 2yo daughter. We contacted a recognized guide but we were accompanied by his cousin instread. He assist us very well on how to get tattoos but never really toured us around village. The trail going to the village was a bit challenging for someone (like me) who is not physically athletic. The trail mostly include steps/stairs. They offered us free Kalinga coffee all throughout our stay and free rice as well. Sleeping on our rented house was a breeze because the weather was cold and we never opt opening the efan. We planned our travel going to Buscalan on a weekday and on a rainy month (August) so there are only a few co-tourist on that day. Hoping to get back here again really soon.

Very small community with very friendly people. Be ready for a challenging hike. The key is to rest as needed.

Its a place where ive expereince and seen what it looks like our village before in bila. The stories of ourgrandparents is relieved :)
It was worth every bit of the journey to get there and back.
A very challenging hike but you'll be satisfied when you reach apo wang od village:-)
P1,500 for a guide fee per 5 pax - I think this rate is reasonable for the whole duration of your stay in Buscalan. Surprisingly, this is not the case here, the P1,500 rate is per night, so if you plan to stay here for 2 nights, then rate will be doubled. I would agree on this policy if the guide will cook for you aside from finding a homestay and arrange your tattoo sched with Apo Whang Od.
A once and a lifetime experience, please respect Apo Wang Od and the village, don't bring your trash or western ways let's help preserve this wonderful place.
