Vigan City is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the only one of its kind in the Philippines. The city has been able to preserve its heritage through out the various periods of Philippine history. A lot of heritage houses found adaptive reuse as boutique hotels, museums, restaurants, and the like.

Travel back in time and be in the Spanish era, when streets are made of cobbled stones and windows are made of capiz shells. The place invokes sentimental emotions, as it echoes days of a distant past. I do hope they remove all stores and signages there and make it a real heritage village. That will preserve it longer for future generations.

The colonial influence on Spanish culture and architecture so evident in this city, that for a brief moment you seemed to have been transported into an old town somewhere in Spain or Mexico. Charming place.

The City of Vigan, is a 4th class component city and capital of the province of Ilocos Sur, Philippines. the place is recognized as UNESCO World Heritage Site and it is one of the few towns left in the Philippines whose old structures have mostly remained intact, and it is well known for its sett pavements and a unique architecture of the Philippine colonial era which fuses Native Philippine and Oriental building designs and construction, with colonial Spanish architecture that is still abundant in the area there are plenty locations to visit for a full day visit to VIGAN. if you have time better spend more than a day, then you can cover most of the places. the place is Located on the western coast of the large island of Luzon, facing the South China Sea. If you like historic architecture, then this place not to miss place from Philippines.

This place is one of my favorite destinations in the north. I love old two story buildings and antique because I imagined the life of Filipino during the Spanish colonization in the Philippines. The antique furniture and day to day tools and equipment used during that time. Many of the old buildings are now converted into commercial areas. I tried to eat the Ilocano version of papaitan here, but my stomach cannot tolerate the taste of the said food. What I love here the most is the famous bagnet and longanisa.

This place is very touristy already. It still has its charm but not like the old days. If you get a chance to visit during the lean seasons, it'll be a great stroll. Quite scenic.
