I have Jacob cut my hair and I'm always happy with the result. He totally saved me a couple of years ago when I had very damaged hair from a white bleaching. I also had an unusual hair cut and he did it exactly how I'd wanted it (shaved much of it off and dyed it dark grey colour) so if you want something a bit different but are nervous, I'd recommend Jacob! He listens to what you want and does it... What more could you ask for?!

Had the worst nightmare experience at Basement Salon, SM Aura. It's my first time there - I learned that my fave makeup artist from Emphasis is now there so I made an appointment for hair & makeup weeks in advance. Then 5 days before my appointment, I called to reconfirm and everything is set, 10AM, Nov 8, hair & makeup with Mr. Danny Katalbas. Arrived on time and was seated. After 15 mins of waiting, I followed up. Turned out that reception failed to inform Mr. Danny that the he has an appointment. They also have no other makeup artist in the salon at that time. It's the most stressful time of my life! I'm part of a wedding entourage and have no makeup artist! I tried to wait, and a MUA finally arrived at 1145. I have to leave at 12nn. So I just got a very quick makeup, done in 15 mins. To compensate for the inconvenience, they just billed me P2.5k. So not worth it. Dont book this salon for important events as the people handling appointments are either very incompetent or have no proper training.

Jacob is the best for me. I show him a photo of what I want and he is able to achieve the look that I want with the texture of my hair. His technique is impeccable and he knows how to even out hair. The service is expensive but it's tough to find talented hairstylists like Jacob so I go back to him every time.

I am very disappointed. I wanted curls so bad and i approached basement salon(am aura bgc). Showed them the picture of what exactly I wanted and was promised it is possible. Didn't even demand much. I had virgin hair and I asked for traditional perms starting as waves from root and ending up as small spiral curls at the end. Simple enough. Big loose curls in the middle and small spiral curls at the end.. the stylist did a strand test n said looks good. Spent another 2.5 hours and the result was slight waves.. my hair are naturally wavy so it was like I did nothing to my hair... So I explained what i wanted... What you explained.. and what I finally got. He apologized and said we can fix it. We would treat it again since virgin hair can handle treatment again. So another 1.5 hours and I end up with slightly more defined waves but no curls.. and dry hair... I paid 6000 php for it. (5200php for perm and 800php for trimming). I am completely heart broken! First salon experience.. went to high end salon and disappointed more than ever.. :'(

I had a very enjoyable time there, I chose a junior stylist, who was so professional (Mr. Earl), with a lot experiences through attendig L’Oreal trainings, had a haircut and Kerastas Treatment, which I can’t describe the softness of my hair after the cut and treatment, I had massage while waiting for the treatment and the staff were so kind to me with a nice hot tea... I enjoyed my time there and my hair so far, since last night, definitely will get back.

Save your time and money and do not come here. I had Monette Rivera do my ash blonde balayage and she gave me huge chunks of highlights that didn’t blend well at all. The definition of balayage is gradual, natural highlights but she achieved just the opposite. When I pointed it out to her, she told me that they were accent colors and I could just move those streaks to the back— why in the world would anyone be fine with that? When my friends saw my hair, they were horrified and demanded I go back to redo my hair. When I went back to redo my hair, all the employees (like 15 of them) including the owners crowded around to see my messed up hair and all of them agreed it looked so bad. I felt like a zoo animal. When I asked the owners for a full refund since I had to spend my whole entire day redoing my hair and damaging my hair again with unnecessary color, she wouldn’t budge. All she gave me to compensate for my wasted time was a sample of hair treatment, which was a necessity anyways because they dried up my hair tremendously. And at the end, I walked out with color that didn’t match what I wanted, dried up hair, hurt scalp, and sadness. Monette told me what sets their salon apart from others is their importance of making their customers happy. Don’t be fooled by her sweet talk. I walked away tired, anxious, angry, and hungry at 10pm without lunch or dinner. This is not the way to run a business and I am thoroughly disappointed because I had high expectations for such a renowned salon.
