Nuestra Senora dela Asuncion Church of Sta. Maria or simply Sta. Maria dela Assunta Church, one of the four Baroque Churches of the Philippines is a UNESCO World Heritage Site Church. The elevated church sits on a hill with three flights of stairways from the main road. A must visit church in Ilocos Sur, parking is the only problem when you go here.

If you stop by Sta. Maria, Ilocos Sur, you should not miss this church. It sits on top of a hill and the highest point of the town. The staircases to the church is wonderful to view. The red bricks are magnificent because it's really old. The stone pathways and the architecture have good patterns that'll make your photos amazing!

Beautiful old church constructed during part of Spain colony. Located at higher which exposed the beautil town of Sta. Maria. At the back will be the old ruins of another church.

A beautiful baroque church in Ilocos Sur. This one is a UNESCO world heritage site. The clock tower and the brick facade of the church gives it a very Instagram worthy look. Pilgrims would surely love the challenge of walking up the more than 30 steps going to the church. Rocky Balboa would also enjoy a visit and training round here.

It is a big church where you can meditate and offer your solemn prayer

Amazing ancient UNESCO protected Catholic Church widely known as Nuestra Señora de la Asuncion...

Doesn't live up to its heritage status. Can be visited within 15 minutes, barely worth the trip. No information on its relevance to local history.
