A primary worship house for Catholics. Constructed during the Spanish Era with seven altars and walls made of corals which were lately plastered with concrete. Aside from being a place of worship, it was used to be a place of refuge against Moro raids. Spared from World War II destruction through the intervention of a parish priest who happened to be a countryman of Adolf Hitler who convinced the Japanese invaders to spare the church from destruction.

The place are beautiful and I love the ambiance Great place to worship
It was Sunday afternoon when I arrived in the capital town of San Jose de Buenavista from Anini-y. I looked for the St. Joseph Cathedral and tried to find an open door for me to enter inside. But all the doors were still closed. I saw the Church's garden of Saints, its belfry and the rectangular-shape facade. I noticed that some locals were using the gate in front of the Capitol to enter the premises of the Church which I tried to follow. Since it was my first time in that place, I didn't see also the adoration chapel. Until I went to the fast food restaurant and ate my late lunch. Hurriedly, I went to the terminal and catched the last trip going home. Maybe I will visit the Cathedral again on its fiesta. Date of visit - 3/18/18
