My father, Augustin, went to have his cataract surgery Feb 8/18 and Dr. Espinueva performed the procedure. I am very grateful for the excellent expertise of Dr. Espinueva and the caring staff and friendly atmosphere they showed my dad. All of you made my dad's experience less frightening and you all made such a huge difference in his life that now he can see so much better. He is also recovering well post operatively. CATARACT SURGERY Dr Reynaldo Espinueva performed cataract surgery on my right eye yesterday, November 9, 2017 at Lorma Medical Center. I had the left eye operated on August 10, of this year. Both surgeries were performed flawlessly and the recovery went well. Dr Espinueva recommended the "Oculentis Mplus X" intraocular lens (IOL) based on my eyes (nearsighted R: -700/ L: -850) and my lifestyle (cycling, swimming, walking, etc). The Oculentis Mplus X is a premium IOL. I researched other IOL's on the internet such as Tecnis, Symphony, Crystalens, using combinations of different IOL's and monofocal IOL's and in the end went with the doctor's recommendation. I am extremely satisfied with the result. Near (8-12 inches), intermediate (12-16 inches) and distant vision is excellent. Color contrast is superb. Light not reaching the retina is only about 5%. There is no glare, halos or streaking from light sources at night. The only exception is that in dim or night lighting, objects may not be so obvious so eyeglasses (in my case) may be necessary. However this is a typical trait of all IOL's. Dr Espinueva also recommended the YAG Laser treatment post cataract surgery. This surgery is to cleanup the eye in-order to allow fuller light to reach the retina (better vision). I had my YAG done 10 weeks after the left eye cataract surgery. Some people do it years after the cataract surgery, but the doctor recommends it sooner. Conclusion: I highly recommend Dr Reynaldo Espinueva's professional ophthalmologist services. He has many years of various experiences. I am very satisfied with the outcome of the cataract surgeries. The best is "No more eyeglasses!"
