Very kind hosts, Carol and David. Stayed here for 3 days to experience simple, quiet life away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Carol cooks really good meals straight from their farm. Hope i can come back someday and do projects with them.

We spent 5 days at Happy House farm at the sky hut, and had a wonderful time. The owners, David and Carol, and their super smart daughter Kyra are lovely people and a great family. If you love nature, this is the place for you : you can either chill and rest, walk around and to the beach (we didn't do it) or help for the many project at the farm : gardening, construction work... That's what we did and we learned so much thanks to David ! The accomodation is simple comfort but has everything you need: fan, comfy bed, mosquito net. The showers are very clean. You wash with a bucket as the locals do. Even if the weather is extremely dry, the farm has water. It's not so easy as it doesn't rain much, so it isn't nothing ! The place is easy to reach from Manila by bus (take a bus to Baguio, it should take about 5 or 6 hours). The road is good and straight all the way. One great thing at the farm is the food ! It is super fresh and Carol is such an amazing cook ! She made us some tasty dishes, almost all vegetarian and with the products of the garden. We loved it. During the day, she also spoilt us with excellent banana donuts, iced coffees, ginger teas... It was perfect ! We highly recommend. Thanks David and Carol, we wish you all the very best. (And thanks also to Loretto for bringing us from and to Rosario).

What to expect: This is a simple organic vegetable & fruit farm. If you want to experience having a life disconnected from all the stresses of the city, I would strongly recommend you go here. What to do - David can teach you basic farming skills such as planting, raising fish, etc.. My family & I got to feed the neighbor's goats, catch tilapia, play with mud & create flower wreaths, all with the help of little Kyra! Thank you Kyra! Facilities - The place has the basic necessities a farm can give - ample water supply, fresh food (the rice is of restaurant quality), a well constructed composting toilet (super amazing because it's clean and does not smell at all!), shower area (de tabo). Accommodation: We stayed in a small nipa hut on a hill, beside the tilapia pond but there is an option to stay in a bigger concrete house or go camping under the stars. There is no aircon here but the place is cool and breezy at night. Location - easily accessible via public transportation. Take a bus going to La Union from Cubao and drop off at Benteng Crossing. Take a tricycle going to the farm. During light traffic, travel is only 3.5 hours. So choose a date that most travelers won't take. Customer Service: Carol is very warm and hospitable. She took care of our meals. She helped arranged for transportation going to the beach and our way home. Overall experience: There is a certain joy in being near nature. I would love to go back to this place for longer stay and learn more about farming.

Well, what can I say? Happy House Organic Farm is aptly named. The lovely, happy family who runs this place just infects you with their bliss. One would be hard pressed to find kinder and more gracious hosts. And oh yeah, the farm has the requisite magnificent views of the sea and hills, green fields and fish ponds, blooming flowers and tall trees. And although the resident toads, daddy long legs and gecko freaked me out, I'll gladly trade the cacophony and dull gray of the urban jungle for an extended stay in the Happy House again. I only stayed for 3 days, and I feel it's not enough. Ate Carol, thank you for being so accommodating. I hope I didn't stress you out by 'helping' in the kitchen. I love your farm-to-table meals and your stories. David, thank you for sharing your knowledge and allowing me to help around the farm (more like getting in the way really lol). Kyra, thank you for entertaining us with your antics. I hope you get better at scaling walls and trees. Thank you as well to Kuya Loretto, Walter and Kenneth.

In one word: Amazing! I've spend a few months on the farm, teaching Kyra and her friends. Every time I think of the adventures Kyra and I had, all I can do is smile :) David and Carol are wonderful hosts who taught me so much about organic farming, life in the Philippines and so much more! Also, the food was very yummy! Carol her pumpkinsoup can't beat any other pumpkinsoup I've had so far \u003c3 Overall amazing experience, would definitly recommend anyone to go!

We spent two weeks on David & Carol's farm, and had the best time! We felt right at home from day one, very welcome and comfortable. The work we did on the farm was very diverse: planting different kinds of seedlings and trees, sowing fields, plowing, mulching, cultivating, picking crops and much more. In just 13 days we got from knowing almost nothing about organic farming to feeling very confident and able in many different areas. More importantly, during our stay in the farm we got to know some truly amazing people. David, Carol and little Kyra are the best hosts ever! Eva, the farm chef, and the other workers and volunteers we were working with, all so friendly and fun to be with. This was a great way for us to get to experience the Philippines "from within" and not as just tourists, and learn some new and useful skills. Highly recommended!

If you're looking for a unique experience, learn more about, and experience organic farming and sustainable living, this is the place to go. I was only able to stay for a week, but I really felt how my body was healthier when I left, and how my appreciation of and perspective in life has widen. The owners, David and Carol, are the most lovely hosts! The rooms are cozy and clean. Food is superb, always fresh, healthy, and delicious. I experienced a lot of new things like chopping fallen tree branches, planting lots of herbs, mulching, and preparing soil. I get a nice physical workout from the activities every day and sleep like a baby every night. I admire how they are improving the farm and preserving/restoring it at the same time. You'll just bump into fireflies, one even went inside my room at night, and that was another cool experience for me. I hope to be back soon! I also wish that there are more places in the world like the Happy House Farm. :)

My wife and I spent a week here in late March. We really enjoyed our time with David, Carol, Kyra and Eva. The guest accommodation house is comfortable. They have lots of fans, which were necessary because it was HOT! There was not much farming activity at that time due to it being hot and dry. We stayed as guests for 12 per person a day, which is a great value. The food they served was delicious and plentiful. Got us off our typical travelers diet of fried and packaged crap for a week. We relaxed most days, even made a trip to San Juan to surf (about 2 hours by bus) and to the local beach to swim (40 minute walk from the farm). Go to the Happy House farm if you're looking for a healthy, local, laid back experience. Thank you!
