Keep calm and carry a stick. This stuck out to the quick meet and greet with Mang Urot. It was a quick travel from our meet up point to the prep site for this night's volunteer service. One person I know wanted to spend her birthday sharing her blessings. This is not her first time to collaborate with Mang Urot. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Benjie Abad, commonly known as Mang Urot. This night, he is accompanied by 7 volunteers. This highly accommodating guy has a lot to share figuratively and literally. Karinderya Ni Mang Urot started in May 5, 2012 with his co-founder, Bridgette Abad, his youngest daughter. His family followed, lead by his wife. Now, he believes that this is an avenue where people who wants to give back can show gratitude in life. He also extends his home as an extension where he can accommodate ladies as temporary shelter. They also do medical missions where volunteers can be subsidized. He spoke heavily on working hard to achieve your dreams and then get back to the community. It can be challenging as evidenced with neighbors having reservations on what he do, as a potential security risk. His soup kitchen servers in Quezon Ave cot Examiner St on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays starting 6PM.
