So Travel People Tips and trivia

For a dorm-hotel hybrid, Golden Panda exceeded our expectations. It gets a four-star rating because of location and basic comfort. Previous stays at dormtels taught us not to expect much, so we were pleasantly surprised that Golden Panda offers above-spartan accommodation. It has a working aircon (centralized system), four pillows and two blankets (versus the usual two pillows and one blanket), hot shower, working cable TV, and toiletries for two. But there are things that need improvement though, such as the time it took us to check in (about 30 minutes even if our online), shower water flow, availability of plate and utensils, and lack drinking water, and lack of bidet in the toilet. Also, during out stay, there was a blackout twice but the generator source immediately kicked in less than 10 seconds before the blackout. But overall, our stay was pleasant and comfortable. We at So Travel People would stay again at Golder Panda Dormtel.

Definitely would NOT recommend this hotel. The rooms are infested with insects particularly cockroaches in different sizes. There’s no near decent dining places. And if you would order a food for delivery there’s additional fee from the hotel. And won’t even deliver it to your room. (You have to go downstairs) otherwise you’ll go hungry. Bad policy of the hotel. One of the biggest issue people have in this hotel is the behavior of the security guards. Very rude and is lacking respect for women. And they seemed mad to men. Just look at their faces when you pass by them. AVOID this place. A bunch of uneducated people.

When we arrived on the establishment, we had no idea where to park. about 2pm... we got there and saw that there is a way down to the basement parking, but there was no one controlling the entry, so we thought it was just okay since we booked our stay here. now, when we parked, the security guard was so rude as if like we are criminals. it is a turn-off for any guest, he could have just asked us nicely. it was so offending. how the security treated us reflects how their services as a dormtel sucks could be. and I was right. I requested in the reception that I want an audience with the manager to raise our concern but never did appear. i am glad we cancelled our booking here. this should serve as a warning to all those who want to stay here.

Accomodations for the budget minded. Rooms are clean and the staff are friendly. Free fast wifi anywhere in the building. Private basement parking. Rates are very affordable too.

I love the place. It's quite far from NAIA Airport but it can be accessible to different malls around Quezon City.

We have chosen the hotel because it is convenient to St. Lukes Hospital for my brother's minor surgery and close to Cubao for some transactions to attain. Our room is not visited for cleaning everyday, no fresh towels not unless you request for it. Crawling cockroaches are visible in the room and bathroom area too often. I usually empty the trash bin because no one check the room. Overall, our stay is just okay.

When i arrive, there is no hotel receptionist. Only a guard facilitates the check in process. I waited 30-40 minutes before being accommodated. And around 4:30 in the morning, theit staff are making a loud noise. It sounds like a trolley or a cart, and they keep on talking and shouting along the hallway. But in fairness, the room rate is worth it.

1. Their washed bed cover, blanket, and pillowcase have a bad smell(body odor). 2. The room is infested with tiny cockroaches that would get into our stuff and would just show up (mirror, cabinet, etc). 3. The hot setting of their shower and faucet is not always functioning well. Most of the time, their hot water is close to being luke warm. 4. Noise outside the street is audible from 3rd floor. My room in Golden Panda Dormtel was adjacent to Banawe St. 5. Most of the elevator guys and some security guards look at women's chest and legs immorally/with lust.
