The Sulu National High School is a Philippine public secondary school. It operates based on mandates of the Republic of the Philippines, and it is subject to the rules and regulations set by the country's Department of Education (DepEd). The school is subject to the mandatory implementation of the K-to-12 Basic Education Curriculum which outlines the learning areas, time allotment, unit credits, grading system, promotion, and delivery of such curriculum. In addition, the school undertakes co-curricular activities that promote appreciation of Filipino culture, enhancement of leadership skills and development of knows-how and abilities needed in responsible journalism. The school implements the Special Program for the Arts (SPA) outlined by the DepEd. As an S-P-A school, it offers a special curriculum for students who are inclined in Music, Visual Arts, Theater Arts, Media Arts, and Creative Writing. The school offers Senior-High-School Academic Track with the following strands: General Academic Strand (GAS); Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM); Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS); and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). It also offers Arts-and-Design Track.
