From an idea to create a sustainable livelihood for the Person with Disability (PWD) community, Green Rubber (GRub) Footwear is now a social startup venture that equips and employs (PWD) to create footwear out of scrap tires. The idea of GRub was born after our team noticed the vast junk tires around our community, which can cause dengue outbreak if not properly disposed of. We offer a unique value proposition as its footwear is made of purely 100% recycled waste tire. For each sold pair of footwear, Grub gives one pair of sandal to underprivileged children who can’t afford to buy footwear specifically located at disadvantaged municipalities in Davao region.
