A UNESCO World Heritage Site and ASEAN Heritage Park, Mount Hamiguitan Natural Science Museum in the town of San Isidro, is one of Davao Oriental's rare and true gems. The modern and pristine white facade of the museum, located high above Mount Hamiguitan, showcases the rich bio-diversity of the land with its informative and interactive exhibits as well as a hiking trail around the surrounding forest.

If you can’t climb Mt. Hamiguitan to see the pygmy forest, then you should visit the museum to have a glimpse of some plants which are up in the mountains. Most notable is the miniscule pitcher plant called Nepenthes hamiguitanensis which they have grown around the vicinity of the museum. The tour guide assigned to us was so accomodating and shared to us a lot of info about the pygmy forest.
