It's cheap, and that's about it. The only star is given to the girl at the reception desk, and the owner. The DM's didn't care at all. There are other dive shops for the same price that you can find down the main road. I was so so satisfied when I went to Amigos dive centre instead.

This Dive Center has some certain pros and cons.. Pros The owner is remarkable with his history and knowledge of the place. The price is decent. Location is great with house reef full of sardines. Cons The guides are inexperienced, unfriendly, uncaring, and unsafe. I am an experienced professional so I can handle being left alone throughout the dive, but under normal conditions with inexperienced divers this is a NO NO. The guides have never done any Rescue training at all. Most of them only have their Advanced Open Water certification. I witnessed this myself when the guides jumped off the boat into strong current without even putting their mask and fins on to help some tired snorkelers in the water. You should always put on your fins AT LEAST to assist someone in the water! One of the guides needed rescuing himself after becoming fatigued. The boat Captain is always late to start the day so I have no idea why they were always rushing me along. I was very disappointed with the service by staff here. I would not recommend them at all

I highly recommend this Dive Shop! Learning scuba diving with Nelson's Dive Shop was one of my best holiday decisions. My instructor was flexible, professional and friendly. The rest of the team was also very friendly, and I spent some great moments with them!

I have dove around the world and have many hundreds of dives under my belt. This is by far the worst dive shop I have ever used. Want a pre dive briefing? Forget it. You will be underwater and see some stuff. Want your dive master to actually have an interest in diving or pay any attention to other divers? Find a different shop. Want any kind of service? Not here. Be prepared to carry your gear to and from the boat as well as setting everything up. The dive profile seems to be for the dive master to get down to 21 meters as quickly as possible and have you chase him. Don't expect the dive master to check on you. One of our guys ran out of air (he is not blameless). The DM was also the first one back on the boat on more than one occasion.

Where do I start? At first there was no briefing no info about the dive or where to dive. As soon as I decided to try their shop they gave me equipment and start right away. I had no idea where they were taking me. Once the dive started, the DM was like in a hurry. When we were done, my tank was still more than 110 left with it. The dive was really short. This turned out to be one of the worse dives that i've been to. This shop also is a bit pricier than the ones around. They charged me 2,000 pesos for a dive not even telling me where the dive would took place. I was expecting it to be at Pescador island since the price was that high, turned out to be a shore dive. After the dive, i inquired other shops and it should only cost me 1,200 pesos for a dive on the shore and 1,400 for pescador island dive. Definitely would not recommend. They have good equipments, but customer service is worst.

For the first time in 90 dives each, we felt unsafe with a dive club. Both my boyfriend’s regulators failed at 15 meters 4 minutes into dive (they were working fine before that). The thing that bother us the most is not the equipment (it can happen), but the attitude. The dive guide tested the regulators at the surface and said they were working fine and didn’t even ask if he was ok. The boss didn’t seem to care and looked shocked when I told him I stopped the dive because my buddy had to go to the surface. No apologies, did not even look sorry for what happened, so we cancelled the next dive and went to another club.

It is disturbing to hear people trashing the longest serving diveshop in Panagsama beach. I have dived with this shop when visiting for a very long time and have only ever heard the highest of praise for the extra service and well maintained equipment. I always have and always will recommend this diveshop to anyone who knows what they are talking about. Can't wait to return to that welcoming professional team.
