Came for a lunch buffet (February 10, 2021) The Negative side: 1. No ice for the Halo-halo 2. There was a cockroach inside the dessert counter display. I showed it to the staff in which she immediately removed. 3. Too much people inside. No social distancing. The arrow markers placed in the floors are not followed. Heath protocols not implemented well. 4. Limited seafoods. Positives: 1. Servers and staff are attentive to guest’s needs. Empty plates are removed immediately. 2. Fast service Overall, for me, its not worth your money.

Much less dishes to choose from since the pandemic is not over. I guess this part was understandable but what we couldn't understand was why it was unsanitary i.e. tiny cockroaches were rampant in one of the stations and saw one chilling on the food. Told the guys working there about it and they disposed of the food that we gave them. There were still some roaches on the station hiding under the crannies of the counter. It was also less enjoyable since everything was already plated. I went also to the west ave branch they had much better service there I would say.

They didn't have too variety of dishes at P930 per head. But it's okey. The place is nice and clean.

Overcharged - short list of menus, almost half of the menus were not available ..they should have reduced their cost...they should inform the guest that their menus will be lessen...we felt shortchanged.. do not blame the suppliers, if they cant deliver, then find another one and replace your purchaser.....even the sodas and fresh fruit shakes were not available.. The sushi maker is impolite, he doesn't know how to remind the guests of the health protocols in a proper manner, as if that he's talking to a stranger. I gave him a bad stare... I wonder if the management is giving their employees the right salaries, it seems that they are not happy with their jobs...i guess we will never be back until they return to their original ambience, environment and food varieties because they are charging in their original price...

Covid season sit down buffet experience: Food was amazing! Salmon was fresh, the rolled meats were good! BUT the service was BAD. It literally took 25 minutes for us to complain and them to realize we haven’t been served the food AND they even lost our original order, to the point we decided to fill up another order sheet. The manager did try to make things faster and more organized, but it failed. And the tables near us was also complaining. They didn’t even seem to look under-staff, it was just a case of missing orders and waiters giving us the dead-ma treatment. Yes they did make a disclaimer that you should get everything you want with the first order, and that the succeeding orders would be slow. Pero un nga, it was SO slow! To the point na after the first orders were given (sushis in the photo) I wanted to just pay for that and leave. They also tried to charge us full price (kasi iba reservation - which we did) Food was good, busog ka nga - pero bad trip ka.

I was not able to take photos but it was a far cry from the Sambo we knew and loved before - a mix of cooked and raw foods, with many viands and desserts to choose from. At the price of Php938, it is not worth it. Sambo became like any samgyupsal eat all you can store. So better to just go at a samgyupsal than here.

Found a LIVING SLUG in my lettuce!! It even moved it's eyes stalk and looked at me. Felt a shiver in my spine! I called a server and they just took the lettuce leaf that has the slug from me and didn't do anything with the remaining lettuce being served and currently consumed by other customers. As for me, i stopped eating the lettuce they are serving and moved on with the other foods available. JUST SO EVERYONE KNOWS THIS, INGESTING A LIVING SNAIL OR SLUG CAN CAUSE MENINGITIS DUE TO PARASITIC NEMATODES THAT LIVES INSIDE THEM. RAW FOODS LIKE LETTUCES SHOULD BE CLEANED WITH CHLORINE OR SALT OR OTHER CLEANING AGENT TO AVOID ACCIDENTAL INGESTION OF slugs or snail . Parasitic infection is undetectable. So for diners of SAMBOKOJIN MEGAMALL for 1/16/2020 let's hope that it's an isolated case and no body ingested the raw slugs form their lettuces.

Quarantine Experience. Worse. I expected a downgraded experience during this quarantine, but what we got was much worse. The food was a definite downgrade, the quality is not passable for a top tier buffet. I've been to this Sambo Kojin branch a dozen times in the past 5 years, this is the first time their food was this bad. It was dry and cold (except for the soup) The adopted table service is very slow. In this new system, customers can choose any food they want for any reasonable amount in a single order. This caused an insane demand upfront and the staff could not keep up. Eventually, food is served cold. Food options has been cut down to half. Granted, this is not entirely their fault. Some of the staff were not friendly, the lady that served us at some point was not delicate on setting down the plates. I was hoping that Sambo Kojin could give us a magical experience on our anniversary (as many times in the past) As a long time patron of Sambo Kojin. Over a dozen visits in the last 5 years, this would be my last. Goodbye Sambo, thank you for the memories.
