As a thunderstorm passed over , our private Bohol Day Tour stopped into the Bohol Tarsier Conservation Area , after visiting other local tourist attraction Bohol Tarsier Conservation Area ... is a protected forestry park , for the tremendous project in the preservation & husbandry of Tarsiers Tarsiers ... are a cute , little , tree dwelling primate , with instinctive large eyes that help with it’s nocturnal instincts by maximise the available night lights Some other interesting fact about the Tarsiers • Tarsiers eyes are heavier then their brains • Tarsiers have the biggest eyes of all mammals - compared to their body size • Tarsiers are carnivores- watch your fingers The forest like trees in this protected sanctuary , are populated with nocturnal insects , that make up the Tarsier's diet Disappointedly on the day we visited , as still heavy raining ... plus being near midday ... understandably the little Tarsiers were hiding under the foliage Through this conservation area , are the goat-track sealed walkways , used to observe the Tarsiers from ... with conservation staff spotters , helpfully directing visitors to the hard to find Tarsiers Totally worth it Would have liked to have taken better photos ... not easy with the rain & iPhone

They are the cutest little mammals you've ever seen. They may not do much as they're usually asleep during the day, and are very shy. From what I learned, loud noises can stress them out and make them suicidal. It was just really cool to see them in person - they are so tiny! Another place you cannot pass when you're in Bohol. This is not the only tarsier sanctuary either. In a post-COVID scenario, I do hope the place expands more if they have the fundings for it, as the walkways are very narrow and there are only a few tarsiers to watch (I believe 8?).

OH MY GOODNESS! these are the cutest monkeys ever and I would love to put one in my pocket! It's really cool to go see them - this is the better place to see than a zoo. There aren't a lot left (as per the staff) since they get eaten by the snakes and birds but they try their best to conserve them. The only place to see Tarsiers in the world. Must see.

If you are on the much acclaimed Chocolate Hills Tour in Bohol you might as well see it. Otherwise don't worry about it. The monkeys are so small and the area equally small you could so easily miss them if it weren't for staff standing along the way pointing them out.

It was cute, but we drove a long way from our hostel in the city for only a 15-30 minute experience. My group and the nice guide observed all the rules and tried our best to be quiet, but you could also see and hear construction, which ruined the experience a bit (for the Tarsiers and for me). Luckily the Chocolate Hills were not far off to visit. I visited in late April 2019, so not too crowded inside when I went. I wish they accepted credit card.

Lots of parking spaces available, for vans and motorcycles. You can also but local goodies in the area and restaurants are available. Inside the Conservation Area, there are friendly tour guides and signage reminder for visitors. Keep quiet/ silent inside the sanctuary so that you won't disturb those cute little primates . Let's respect their space. They look so adorable and lots of trees in the area where then can rest.

Good, bring a friend that knows how to take a good photo, they just point and shoot and are not good at taking photos... at least they were nice enough to take a photo for me.
