It was established in late 2017. However, the conceptualization of the house began three years prior. The first-of-its-kind company in Cebu aims to produce locally made print and electronic books and professional journals that can meet with the standards of the global and international markets. Donald Villamero is the founder of the publishing firm. Before developing the business, he worked as an editor for two of the world’s leading publishing companies—John Wiley & Sons and Pearson. DCO hopes to be the trailblazer for a trustworthy and reliable publishing industry in the Visayas region, addressing two important issues: (1) the lack of high-quality educational books and materials in the Philippines, and (2) the nonexistent platform in the region for local authors to get their works published.
